Welcome to The Valiant Collection - a fully stainless steel automatic diving watch equipped with a choice of either a Swiss ETA or Japanese Automatic Movement. We pored over the design of our Valiant Collection for months and have come up with a watch that pays homage to the Fire Service and my grandfather, whilst still being a beautiful timepiece for the general public.
HERITAGE IN EVERY WATCH
We have melted down an original 1920’s British brass firefighter’s helmet inside our watches. This time set into the crown, which is the component on the side of the watch that allows you to set the time. The craftsmanship is all done in the heart of London’s prestigious jewellery district of Hatton Garden by a family ran business with over 40 years experience dealing with precious metals. What’s really cool is that you are wearing a piece of British firefighting history on your wrist at all times.
ORIGINAL BRITISH FIRE HOSE
FIRE HOSE STRAPS
We are very proud of the fact that we have created our very own William Wood straps made from cast off Angus Duraline British fire hose rubber which has provided over 10 years of service to the UK Fire & Rescue community. You can still smell the rich smokiness in the rubber.
ETA 2824 Automatic
The 2824, the best known of the 28 family, is ≈5mm thick and 25.6mm in diameter. It is a self-winding movement with the oscillating weight spinning up a 38-hour power reserve and has 25-jewelled bearings. The regulator is ETA’s own Etachron system.
Watchmakers argue that the 2824 is one of the most durable and precision movements in its price range. It has been around long enough to demonstrate its tough credentials, with the first of the modern 2824-2 models being released in 1982.
Seiko NH35 Automatic
The Seiko NH35 is also a self-winding movement and has 24-jewell bearings. The movement is one of the world’s most popular automatic movements. The NH35 should be fully wound after about 55 manual turns of the crown.
Some would argue that Seiko were the first brand to produce an automatic watch and watch critics argue that Seiko movement are as accurate as major Swiss luxury providers.
Luxury lives in the detail
Our 12 indices represents the two collar markings on the lapel of a Fire & Rescue Service Crew Manager, the chequered markings around the outside of the dial mirror the markings from a British fire engine, our seconds hand takes inspiration from the chime of a vintage fire bell with all hands and indices Super-Luminova allowing you to tell the time in the dark, we’ve tinted the double domed sapphire crystal glass blue as a tribute to my grandfathers tenure on the blue watch, and the turning bezel traditionally used by divers for oxygen capacity can be used for a firefighters oxygen tank.
DAY AND NIGHT
Super-LumiNova - We wanted this to be a watch that you could wear everyday. No matter what the job! By having Super-LumiNova on the indices, hands and bezel you can follow the time no matter how dark your environment.
