THE FIRE FIGHTERS CHARITY (CRN: 1093387)

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.

This charity holds a dear place in our Founder Jonny's heart as they supported his grandfather, William Wood, when he was alive through their recuperation facilities located in Little Hampton. We speak to serving and retired firefighters daily and they each have a wonderful story of how The Fire Fighters Charity have supported them and their families.

We are very proud to have donated over £25,000 to the charity and have big aspirations to increase this sum in the future.

New York Fire Department Foundation

In 2022 we were given approval from the board of the New York Fire Department Foundation to produce a Limited Edition Commemorative Watch honouring the Men and Women of the FDNY. This was a huge milestone for William Wood Watches as the FDNY form the largest Fire Department in the world with approximately 11,000 firefighters and 217 fire houses.

William Wood Watches made a donation to the FDNY Foundation of $25,000 as a result of this project going towards the facilities and equipment required for the City of New York firefighters.

Always Ready Motorbike Prize Draw

We collaborated with Saltire Motorcycles in Scotland to produce the world's first William Wood Motorbike made using our watch parts and upcycled firefighting materials. We sold 300 tickets priced at 100 each and all profits from the draw (£10,800) was donated to The Fire Fighters Charity.

On International Firefighters Day 2022 (4th May 2022) we drew the winner of our Always Ready Motorbike Prize Draw. The lucky winner was a career firefighter in Ireland who won this one of a kind Motorbike.

TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION (EIN: 02-0554654)

Firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller was the youngest of seven children born to Mae and George Siller. At the age of eight, Stephen lost his father, and a year and a half later his mother passed away, leaving him an orphan to be raised by his older siblings. He grew up to be an extraordinary individual and dedicated firefighter.

On September 11, 2001, Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers when he got word over his scanner of a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Upon hearing the news, Stephen called his wife Sally and asked her to tell his brothers he would catch up with them later. He returned to Squad 1 to get his gear.

Stephen drove his truck to the entrance of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, but it had already been closed for security purposes. Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back, and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he gave up his life while saving others.

We created a one of a kind 9/11 Triumph Heat Watch that was auctioned off in support of the 20 year anniversary of 9/11. The watch sold for $19,000, a remarkable achievement.

We also produced a line of 100 T2T Commemorative Watches for all Foundation donors. These watches all sold out and we donated $10,000 to the Foundation from the sales.

In total we donated $29,000 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

BUSHFIRE RELIEF FUND

Bushfires ravaged the Australian continent from September 2019 well into the new year. Millions of families were affected, as well as countless indigenous wildlife.

In January 2020 we joined the Watch & Act Auction hosted by Time + Tide Watches in Melbourne. We were 1 of 20 luxury watch brands who united and donated a watch to auction off with all proceeds supporting the Australian bushfires. The auction raised over $150,000 and we were delighted to have the opportunity to make a contribution to this tragic event.

In total we donated $5,000 from our watches sale to the Australian Bushfire Relief Fund.
