William Wood Watches are proud to be partnering with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in support of the 20 year anniversary of 9/11. We will be auctioning off a one of a kind watch and personalised experience, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's Fallen First Responder Programme.
The auction will open on Monday 6th September 2021 and will close on Monday 13th September.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was established to honor the memory of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11th 2001.
That morning Stephen, a FDNY firefighter assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1, had just finished his shift and was on his way to play golf with his brothers.
He suddenly got word over his scanner that a plane had hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Stephen called his wife, Sally, asked her to tell his brothers he would catch up with them later and returned to Squad 1 to get his gear.
Stephen arrived at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, (now the Hugh L Carey Tunnel) but it had been closed for security purposes.
Determined to carry out his duty, he strapped 60 lbs. of gear to his back and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers. There, he gave up his life while saving others.
For 20 years the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has honored Stephen’s memory by supporting the brave men and women in uniform who continue to risk life and limb in the line of duty.
Tunnel to Towers provides mortgage free homes to our nation’s catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children.
This year is the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 20th Anniversary and to mark 20 years of DOING GOOD the Foundation has promised to deliver 200 mortgage payoffs or mortgage-free homes across the country by the end of the year.
All of the proceeds raised from the sale of this Commemorative Watch will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation Fallen First Responder Home Program to help pay-off the mortgages for the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty with young children.

We have created a one of kind custom-made fire alarm case back. With our Swiss-Made Sellita SW510 movement residing inside as the fire alarm, and a glass partition between the emergency plate 'In case of fire break glass'. To make this one of a kind piece in tribute of the 20 year anniversary of 9/11 extra special we have engraved the 9/11 NYC commemoration skyline into the glass caseback and engraved the watch with 09/11 20 Years.
We are so proud and honored to be combining beautiful watch horoloy with supporting such a significant firefighting and worldwide tribute.
Tucked away in the Jura Mountains of Switzerland, 1,000km above sea level, is the world's epicentre of luxury watchmaking, also known as Watch Valley. It is home to the elite Swiss watch manufacturers and where we chose to build this beautiful Model 1 of 1 Tunnel to Towers Commemorative Watch.
Our Triumph Collection sub dials take inspiration from the dashboard gauges within a fire engine cockpit. Reminiscent of pressure pumps, the sub hands are finished in red, blue or gold to match the main chronograph hand, shaped in the style of a vintage fire bell chime.
The chronograph hand and 30 minute sub dial is operated by the antique brass finish buttons located on the side of the case.
Forged from an original 1920's British brass firefighters helmet is our Triumph Collection crown embossed with our iconic helmet logo. We have coupled them up with our antique brass finish chronograph case buttons. This range really takes you one step closer to real British firefighting history.
Our Tunnel to Towers Commemorative Watch comes with our iconic line of upcycled British fire hose straps which have served and protected the UK Fire & Rescue Service in live fires for over 10 years. You can still smell the rich smokiness within the rubber.
You will receive the watch with all 4 fire hose strap colours including; London Fire Brigade Red, West Midlands Fire Service Yellow, Tyne & Wear Fire Service Blue and British Armed Forces Fire Unit Green.
We have really pushed the boundaries of luxury with a genuine Italian leather watch presentation box inspired by a fire alarm. This unboxing will set your mind alight.
The box has two levels, the first can carry up to 3 watches neatly wrapped on individual cushions. The second level, accessed by pulling the emergency cord, houses a cufflinks box, straps box and certificate library for your new timepiece.
The lucky winner of this Model 1 of 1 Commemorative Watch will not only win the watch, fire hose straps, fire alarm presentation box and cufflinks. But they will also be offered a personal tour around the 9/11 Musuem in New York by a senior FDNY official. This private one on one tour will be an experience to remember for the rest of their lives.
(The winning bidder has the option to accept to decline this personal tour as we understand it may be difficult to travel to New York under current circumstances).
The lucky winner will also receive 2 x VIP tickets to the Tunnel to Towers Run Weekend Kickoff Concert featuring Lynyrd Skynyrd at Liberty State Park in New Jersey on Friday 24th September 2021.
