William Wood Watches have partnered up with Saltire Motorcycles in Scotland to create the world's first William Wood Watches motorbike made from upcycled firefighting materials. The bike is truly like nothing we have ever seen before and it will be auctioned off in our Always Ready Fundraiser where one lucky person will drive off with this incredible bike. The winner will also receive a complimentary William Wood Valiant Collection Watch which can be clipped into the bike.
All profits raised from the sale of this model 1 of 1 custom motorbike will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity in the UK supporting firefighters and their families.
What is most incredible is this one of a kind motorbike could be yours for just £100, yes that's right just £100. Plus you have a 1:300 chance of winning. And 50% of your £100 is donated to The Fire Fighters Charity. We would take those odds anyday over the lottery.
Are you thinking I would love to enter but I don't know how to ride a bike? Don't worry, Saltire Motorcycles will give you free bike lessons, plus provide your theory and practical bike examination on site in Edinburgh.
When we first spoke to the passioante team about Saltire Motorcycles based in Edinburgh we instantly knew this was a collaboration made in heaven. The team at Saltire Motorcycles have decades of experience building beautiful custom motorbikes for customers all around the world right here on British soil.
Their Founder Calum has built up a pheonominal business and we are proud to have partnered together to create the world's first William Wood Watches x Saltire Motorcycle custom bike incorporating upcycled firefighting materials.
Let's start with the base bike. We have chosen the renowned Indian Scout Motorcycle. With a 1133cc engine, 100bhp and 120mph top speed this bike is leaves you feeling king of the road cruising around the city or winding through the countryside.
When Indian built the Scout the aim was to build the ‘best in class, mid-size American motorcycle’, or as company boss Steve Menneto more succinctly puts it: “It’s our answer to the Harley Davidson Sportster.”
The Saltire team were very excited to use the Indian Scout and did an outstanding job turning our combined vision into a masterpiece.
If there is one thing that William Wood Watches are known for it is our firefighting upcycling. And even though we have moved from watches to bikes our values remain unchanged.
The motorbike handle bars are made from wood inspired by the rungs of a firefighters ladder.
At the end of the handle bars are our iconic William Wood Watches brass coins from the back of our Chivalrous Collection range. Each coin is made from an original 1920's British brass firefighters helmet.
The motorbike bar grips are made from genuine upcycled British red fire hose. The seat is finely crafted hand stitched leather saddlery work incorporating fire hose. You can still smell the rich smokiness in the rubber like our iconic watch straps.
The bike is finished in a deep fire engine red with a 24 carrot gold leaf detailing inspired by a vintage British fire engine.
Located on the gas cylinders of the bike you will see the inner workings of our Triumph Collection watch caseback displaying the words 'In case of fire break glass'.
Where the speedometer is located the new owner of the bike will be able to remove their Valiant Watch from their wrist and clip it into their motorbike. The winner will also receive a complimentary William Wood Valiant Watch as a thank you for their contribution.
The motorbike will be delivered anywhere in the UK free of charge. International customers can absolutely enter the fundraiser too but shipping will have to be paid for by them.
The mood board featured here was the birthplace of our combined ideas. I mean you can't get much cooler than that.
We will be releasing 300 tickets priced at £100 each. Yes, thats right, you have a 1 in 300 chance of winning this incredible machine. 50% of your ticket purchase value will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity. You can purchase up to 10 tickets per person and the winner will be announced in September on both the William Wood Watches and Saltire Motorcycles Instagram live at their workshop in Edinburgh.
Don't know how to ride a motorbike, don't worry, we will teach you. Saltire Motorcycles will give you free bike lessons, plus provide your theory and practical bike examination on site in Edinburgh.
What better way to learn to ride.
MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER
"When Saltire apprached us to collaborate on this beautiful bike I was instantly excited. Not just because I am a bike fan but because I could see the shared passion and stories between our two brands. Firefighters and Bikers are two communities held together by what they love and I am proud to have witnessed both of these groups come together to create a breathtaking motorbike and experience.
I will personally be up in Edinburgh to congratulate the winner in September. The winner will also be part of presenting the charity cheque to The Fire Fighters Charity and a celebratory drink may be on the cards from a local distillery.
Good luck and thank you as ever for your incredible support. The Fire Fighters Charity are extremely grateful for your support and we are too."
